ABOUT THE HEY APATHY! SAMURAI COMICS

HEY APATHY! SAMURAI COMICS! Between the years of 2004-2008 I spent most of my time perched under the only tree left in the City of Gears. Part monk and part madman I earned my living by telling stories, making graffiti street art and most importantly talking to strangers. One such character was this weird wandering Ronin who’d stopped to ask me if I’d seen any enormous eyeballs floating around. I told him I hadn’t but before he had a chance to sheath his weapon a giant Junk machine ambushed him out of practically nowhere. Well I suppose such things are to be expected when one is no longer willing to decipher reality from cartoons. Welcome to the Monstrous Metropolis!

"THE DEMONS OF THE BLUE GATES PORTAL RIFT" Pt 4

Samurai Comics Side Story: Eventually the company stopped attacking the King's decision and for all appearances had accepted the situation. They made a small public apology for their unnecessary actions and thanked the city for the grants and future opportunities. The labs reopened and they seemed to be back to business. However behind the scenes there was something far more sinister taking place. Rather than continuing their studies the laboratories were being employed to develop a dark plot against the kingdom. In the daytime a group of select scientists of questionable backgrounds gathered in the lab while during the night, as it was later discovered, several ninja liaisons and black magicians would accompany the crew.

The leaders of the company had decided to take drastic action and force the city to use their new methods of water transportation. Working with various underworld specialists they plotted a means to disrupt the Blue Gates thereby temporarily halting the City's access to water. Based on the types of villains involved in the scheme one can imagine the possible means that would have been suggested to include poison, explosions or even a military coupe. However these men were extremely intelligent and knew the operation would have to be entirely covert and untraceable to achieve their goals.

As a result they decided the best approach would be to fabricate a natural disaster. At the advice of the black magicians they would create an enormous portal rift through which they could teleport a treacherous attack. The “rift” is essentially a doorway through time and space that the competent sorcerer can create out of thin air and use for transport. These rifts were commonly meant for hiding small objects and making quick getaways from one room to an another. Although somewhat unprecedented the evil wizards hired by the company were certain their combined efforts could create a portal large enough to divert the water under the guise of a natural calamity. Since the portals could be easily disguised as a hurricane type storm there was very little chance of being suspected or traced back to the source.

There were however two major problems with the plan that needed to be addressed. First of all if they stole the water by way of the portal it needed to be transported somewhere else. This could put them at risk of being detected. A team of ninja was sent out to the wilderness in search of the best locations within the range of the portals but discovered it would be very difficult unless the water could be divided amongst different lakes.

The second obstacle to the attack was the sophisticated aqua ducts of the Blue Gates. The waterways were designed with many safety features including immediate diversion in case of any accidents. There would have to be a very specific and precise amount of sabotage in order to prevent the water from escaping. Again this raised concerns regarding detection and required a delicate move. In the end it they decided to transport a herd of rampaging ogres strategic locations. The Ogres were natural destructive and had a tendency to lose their sense of direction during storms so their true purpose would be naturally disguised. (Continue Reading)
