A mysterious recurring hallucination renders numerous unrelated office workers comatose while others are replaced by rodents, aged and disgruntled versions of themselves or conniving upstarts. Meanwhile a Superhero battles giant Robots, a Mad Scientist experiments on himself and one seemingly insignificant dreamer turns into a plant. Beneath the surface of normal communications lies a strange weird world of interconnected thoughts, deeds, actions and revelations. A group of weird hybrid scientist/business men construct an oversized living female bust, a building splits open exposing it’s spine and an inexplicable love crime incites demonic possession! Creature Visions is a series of strange, surreal, alternative and insidious ink drawings mapping the intangible telepathic geography of the City of Gears! Each drawing is made without preliminary sketches or conceptual planning. The idea being that to best explore the lucid depths and mysteries of the mind, one must first commit to not using it. Scary scribbles, monster comics, hilarious horrors, and weird wonders lie behind this curtain of Creature Visions.

Two trees have assimilated a mechanical foliage battle armour, an elevated city breeds discontent, and a fashion shoot turns monster in these oneiric tragedies. Can the world survive another alien invasion or nature's retaliation? Storybook struggles of men as mice in the eyes of the environment, technology, and the infinite itself! Inexplicable revelations and surreal narrations lurk amidst the fine pen & ink studio illustrations. About The 2010 Monster Drawings and Comics!
HEY APATHY! 13 STORIES
These new “Hey Apathy!” surreal comics ink drawings are dedicated to the exploration of short imaginative narrative vignettes. Each study is hand drawn with fine point technical pens and follows a short visual stanza involving 13 miniatures per theme. Using a variety of tools and ambidextrous techniques, I hope to move quickly through a multitude of surreal comics symbols and myths similar to the methods used in periodical publications. Although assimilating storyboard & cartoon-like vocabularies, the drawings will differ drastically as emphasise is given to the minimization of narration and to the detailed craftsmanship of each singular panel. Basically these are subliminally sophisticated comics intended for the gallery setting. There will be 13 stories ( as the title suggests) each limited to a 13 panel investigation and each drawn using a different illustrative technique. The finished artworks include a hand written calligraphy account of the correlated stories. 2010 PROJECTS COMICS AND ANIMATIONS !!! 13 Stories is one of three major HEY APATHY! Projects under development in 2010. Simultaneous with the illustrated fables, I am also working on a new short Animation funded by the Ontario Arts Council as well as a online strip entitled MONSTER COMICS! These new Volume 2 artworks continue to explore the monstrous metropolis know as the City of Gears. In the earliest artworks (HEY APATHY Volume One) the city was revealed as a giant gear propelled by an infinitely anonymous sea of faceless people With each subsequent chapter of the mythology, the drawings perpetually delve deeper into the urban atrocities. By means of constant public exhibition, interventions, and street performances I eventually started identifying and interacting with these apparently shapeless crowds. As a result of these public experiments I have met thousands of people from all over the world and of all walks of life. In more recent artworks the city is still rendered as an enormous gear, only now it is all the different and crazy people who fuel the machine! The 2010 volume 2 drawings take the inquiries one step further as they begin to examine the individual koan like and absurdist occurrences of these strange and diverse denizens as opposed too, but related with, the ominously isolating enormity of the masses.
