From a distance the metropolis appears to be an ominous gear propelled by an endless sea of faceless denizens. As we are pulled further into the madness the city reveals its true identity. While the buildings still take the shape of a giant gear, from this new vantage we can see that it is all sorts of unique and crazy characters, not anonymous crowds, that fuel the machine! In the streets Samurai and superheroes battle against giant billboard robots, an extraterrestrial technology attempts to assimilate mankind and the weird little routines of unassuming individuals become fantastical tales of transformation! Read about a terrifying day trip downtown, an painter driven to madness by artist block and a funny little skeleton man who is always depressed! Welcome to the City of Gears!

Each comic book features a self contained story connected by the imaginary environment of the monstrous metropolis. The episodic works can be read individually or in any order as they are connected by expressive concepts as opposed to a serial narrative. The stories range from personal and introspective satires to all out mainstream action sagas. My goal as a comics creator at this stage to do a set of genre experiments exploring a variety of different types of stories under the umbrella theme of all taking place in the same location. This surreal anthology of books will explore super heroes, horror, science fiction, underground comix, mystery, Jidaigeki Samurai, children's books and action genres as I develop my own unique and twisted universe. The fun part about this approach is that it permits me to explore a variety of techniques and styles through short stories while fleshing out larger underlying narrative.

The Comics are all independently published. Each issue is printed at full comic size (6.5 x 10.25 inches) in glorious black and white, ranging from 28-36 pages with glossy covers autographed by creator Mike Parsons.
