STRANGE TALES FROM THE CITY OF GEARS!
Monster T-Shirts! Crazy Manga Battle Sequences, Surreal Nightmares and Strange City designs on black and white tops. Coming from comic book and fanboy background I have always been excited to use clothing as my canvas. Fashion designs allow use to communicate, connect and express ourselves in a manner gallery artworks never can. On several occasions One of the most rewarding things to me as an artist is seeing one if the exploding heads t-shirts wandering through streets of downtown Toronto.
The Big Idea! From the insides of this person's thoughts comes the big idea. There is no external violence here only a surreal separation of the mind and eyes from the body resulting from the overwhelming experience of an epiphany. This shirt features a short animated sequence depicting just such an incident as the city blows this character's mind.
The Seeing Tower! A Giant concrete Tower opens it's eye and turns into a Dinosaur. The monster tower screams at the city baring it vicious teeth as it leans aggressively towards the streets. Luckily a tiny superhero had nothing better to do and has risen up to defend the crowds. I generally like to describe this image as the city on a Monday morning or Friday night depending on the viewer.
Enter The Surreal Metropolis! In the distance masses of little faceless bubble people can be seen filling the skyscraper towers. Spiraling through gear shaped portals these people make the city spin. As the work day ends the crowds exit the buildings and file down the streets where we get to meet them up close. Here we realize there are ni faceless citizens and that the city is in fact made up of all sorts of crazy and unique individuals. Welcome to the City of Gears!
Giant Manga Monster Battle Fashion Drawings!!! A 200 foot tall Black Demon is attacking downtown Tokyo! Moving at Lightning Speed an armored warrior rises to the occasion challenging the destructive monster. With the soul of an ancient samurai sword battle the two warriors pass each other like a swift and anonymous breeze. Fortunately for the city the hero prevails leaving the demon demolished to seek out another battle!
