STREET PAINTING AT FESTIVAL
HEY APATHY! MONSTER COMICS STREET PAINTING! A giant technological tentacle is rampaging through the city and it's up to the Samurai to stop the oneiric optics! Live Mural Painting at the P.S. Kensington Car Free Sundays! The open air street festival occurs in Toronto's legendary Kensington Market on the last Sunday of each summer month. The event is full of live music, artwork, dancing, costumes and food. The entire market is closed off to cars and cyclists are encouraged to walk as the sidewalks and road ways come to life with celebration. One of the amazing things about the show is that it attracts huge and diverse crowds from all over the world. The entire streets flood with people and barbeques while children run amok. Along with my official Queen Street West location, the Pedestrian Sunday Carnival was a regular haven. I performed at the inaugural event and have since participated in over 25 Kensington festivals. The street performance in the photo was from a 2006 party in which I made a 10 x 12 foot ink drawing before the sunset when the drumming begins.
