ALTERNATIVE SAMURAI COMICS"HEY APATHY!" BOOK TWO
THE SURREAL SAMURAI....HEY APATHY! is an alternative comics series regarding strange and apocalyptic events from a metaphorical metropolis known as the City of Gears! The first story arc features a cross genre anthology of interconnected parables all told from my perspective as a street performer working in the core of all the chaos. Each comic features a self contained origin story introducing the heroes, villains, and unusual occurrences commonplace in the monstrous metropolis. The entire collection will simultaneously examine the history of the imaginary Gear City, it's current state of crisis, and my own unusual experiences as a street art performer exasperatingly entangled amid the urban absurdities.
BOOK TWO Samura Wakayawa is a lonely samurai wandering the streets, dressed in rags, looking for a giant eyeball. Socially withdrawn, Samura makes friends with a local street & comics artist who foretells his future within an ink drawing. Will Samura’s random encounter with the artist and a lurking group of meddling vigilantes operating near-by, reveal the secrets of the Ronen’s past and the diabolic & hallucinogenic mystery of his quest for the ominous optics? Of coarse this surreal samurai comic is an homage to the great sword swinging stories and films from the east. HEY APATHY! Is an ongoing cross genre anthology combining fantastical adventures and real life stories. The primary initiative of the project is to examine various fictional metaphors, while simultaneously sharing my personal experiences as a street artist and performer.
