A HARD RAIN IS GOING TO FALL...

The HARD RAIN alternative comics and ink drawings are best accounted for in the following passage:

"...Mushroom clouds blast straight up the center of the paper, sending buildings, cars, and people tumbling into crevasses that yawn open the earth. Bombs rain down on cities, people lie in rows of hospital beds, monsters gnash their teeth and strange little figure fly through the air or cower beneath umbrellas. This series marks the beginning of a denser, more obsessive, and more claustrophobic style of drawing compared with the relatively simple , almost pop art graphics of HEY APATHY!..." from BETWEEN CATASTROPHE AND CELEBRATION The Drawings of Mike Parsons by Sascha Hastings

Made during a 6 month meditation, the chapter 4 HARD RAIN ink drawings included 250 5x5 inch artworks mounted on custom made wood panels, 13 large format murals on paper, and a 2 minute experimental animated loop. Designed as a single sculptural installation the exhibit opened, complete with red walls, at the VIRUS ARTS Gallery in MARCH 2003. One of the most successful and striking installations to date, the exhibition was featured on the cover of Toronto's Now Magazine, and in the arts section of the Globe and Mail.
