HEY APATHY! & THE APOCALYPSE

O.C.A.D. ATRIUM GALLERY Jan 2002
The HEY APATHY! Canadian artworks were first exhibited in the Ontario College of Art & Design Drawing & Painting Showcase, March 2001.This initial incarnation of the series consisted of 60 drawings ranging in size from 18 x 24 inches to 6 x 4 feet. This miniature installation won second prize in the institute's annual Drawing & Painting scholarship competition.
An extended collection of the artworks ( with more drawings, comics,& animations) was presented in the O.C.A.D. Atrium gallery in Jan 2002. The installation of "HEY APATHY! & THE APOCALYPSE", included all of the ink drawings made between Jan. 2001-Jan. 2002. The feature presentation involved 13 large scale ink murals (up to 10 x 15 feet, approx. 50 poster sized artworks, 250 small pen drawings, a series of comic strips, and 3 minutes of experimental animations. The enormous environmental installation was highlighted by four story cartoon-sky backdrop, hand painted on sewn bed sheets, as well as red gallery walls and a floor plan specifically designed for the exhibition space.
The artworks have since been exhibited in various degrees at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition 2002-2003,the Xpace Gallery and in a "HEY APATHY!" solo retrospective exhibition at the Cambridge Galleries, July 2006.

TORONTO OUT DOOR ART EXHIBITION 2002-03
The first public exhibition of "HEY APATHY! And The APOCALPSE" was at the 2002 Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibit. Showing at the open air festival permitted me to meet interact, and discuss the ideological aspirations behind the ink drawings with thousands of people from all over the world. The show was one of my most successful ventures as I was introduced to a whole new world of probabilities regarding public exhibition. Since that time I have perpetually experimented with public interventions including giant wall murals and live
street art and painting performances.

CAMBRIDGE GALLERIES 2006
In July of 2006 the Cambridge Galleries held a HEY APATHY! Canadian Art retrospective exhibition. The show borrowed numerous large scale ink drawings from various collectors in order to commemorate the first five years of the project. The exhibit featured approximately 25 giant illustrations spanning Nine Chapters of the mythology as well as video installation cataloguing all of the animations (to date)and a published art book complete with interviews, photos and articles. The event was curated by Sascha Hastings and sponsored by the Canada council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council.
